Disk of RAID 5 Failed

Having a disk of a RAID 5 that has failed can cause havoc with any array. Luckily RAID5 had that redundancy automatically built in with parity written to each drive.

Problems can occur, however, when two or more drives fail or when one drive fails but another drive has too many bad sectors but still shows as "Ready".

If you have a Disk of RAID 5 Failed, its important not to "Initialize" and disks or Rebuild more than one drive otherwise the data could be lost.
